T.A.C.T and Education

T.A.C.T, along with many other conservation bodies in the U.K and Ireland believes that it is vital that the next generation is taught the principles of sustainable living and development. Therefore one of the main aims of the T.A.C.T Wildlife Centre is to provide educational services to schools and individuals in order to help them learn about wildlife and the environment.

T.A.C.T Wildlife Centre -:

1) Supplies teachers with quality environmental teaching resources.

2) T.A.C.T Wildlife Centre is a place where children can visit and learn about a whole range of conservation and environmental issues.

3) Encourages all ages, abilities and communities to visit the Centre to take advantage of T.A.C.T's educational resources.

T.A.C.T works with many schools and provides an important curriculum base for learning about the natural world. School groups of all ages visit the Centre on a regular basis and many different subject areas are covered, such as science, geography, english, maths and art and design. The Centre is wheelchair friendly and has some facilities for visiting groups such as picnic facilities, light refreshments, gifts and souvenirs.

T.A.C.T Resource Room

T.A.C.T is in the process of establishing a log cabin resource room where visiting groups can be housed in the event of bad weather. This classroom will also provide a range of other useable resources such as audio visual facilities.

So whether you are a teacher looking for a range of resources or a school visit, a parent searching for an educational way to keep children amused or a youth leader looking for wildlife related visits, projects and activities for all ages, the T.A.C.T Wildlife Centre can help you, why not contact us today to see what we can do for you.
